Embody awareness: sensing the moment retreat

Tailor your Holiday is delighted to invite you to our next wellbeing event with our guest speaker Konstantinos Zervos, mindfulness based nutritionist, health promotion counsellor and health/wellness coach and Asimina Kourouni, Pilates, health and exercise specialist.

This unique workshop is taking place on Saturday 23rd of March at 10.00 am at the Pulse Pilates Studio in Ipswich. It combines mindful movement, meditation and mindful eating principles.

Mindfulness mediation is conceptualized as a way of training attention to promote self-awareness and self-regulation, decrease emotional reactivity and enhancing insight in cognitive and behavioral aspects of human functioning.

Mindful movement is every form of exercise performed with awareness. It does not matter what the movement or activity is; it does not matter how difficult it is. The key factor is training the mind and body in the present moment, so you can succeed both in athletic activities and everyday life. Mindful movement can help you tap into that space beyond your busy mind where you are already calm and clear. 

Mindful eating is an important element of creating a new relationship with food and body of nourishment. Mindful eating improving mindfulness reduces emotional stress and increase self-compassion and self-esteem. Mindful eating is not another rule referring to healthy eating. Mindful eating is a great tool which can lead to the inner resources of wisdom, self-love and self-acceptance.

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to experience a taste of mindful eating both on a theoretical and practical level.  Please bring with you one of your favourite foods.

Our half day workshop will give you relaxation, practical knowledge and tools which you can use in everyday life. Through breathing, experiencing and sensing, you can create that space of self-care and nourishment. It’s an invitation to meet yourself and treat yourself by simply allowing yourself to be in the present moment,

Facilitators

Konstantinos Zervos, MSc

Konstantinos is a health and wellness professional whose work focuses to inspire and motivate people to make sustainable changes in their eating behaviors by improving their holistic wellbeing. He received his master’s in health promotion and health education from the Athens Medical School (Greece). He has twenty years of working experience with specialization in obesity and disordered eating behaviors. The last five years he specializes in the field of mindfulness and its application in eating behavior. He is the founder of the program “EATT”, a scientific and evidenced based mindful eating intervention who has helped more than a hundred of people to change their relationship with food and their body. His professional knowledge and experience accompany the good practice guidelines for teaching mindfulness-based courses as listed in UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training Organisations.

Asimina Kourouni, BSc

Asimina is a highly respected Pilates instructor with a wealth of experience behind her. As a qualified fitness, dance and Body Balance specialist, she believes you can achieve a better physical and mental state. With a passion for mindfulness and Wellbeing, Asimina will guide you through your quest to improve your quality of life. So, whatever your age, build or fitness level, she will steer you on your journey every step of the way. Asimina’s expert knowledge and personable skills will give you the confidence to benefit from a truly memorable experience. Asimina has more than 15 years of experience in the fitness industry and she holds a University degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences. Asimina’s qualifications include EREPS Level 6 health and exercise specialist, aerobic dance, prenatal Pilates, rehabilitation of the spinal cord and related musculoskeletal conditions and Body Balance certification. Alongside with her sport and exercise qualifications, Asimina has become an accredited second-degree Reiki therapist. The combination of her studies is what makes her teaching approach more holistic.
